ABOUT US
The Neighbors We Serve

-
Our neighbors in need are economically distressed families and individuals, seniors living on limited pensions (often facing medical issues), recent immigrants, victims of spousal abuse, and formerly homeless persons.

-
The neighbors we serve are referred to us by participating faith communities, county social services, and non-profit groups serving special need groups such as victims of spousal abuse or the homeless.

-
For the fiscal year 2023, Share services supported 1,400 households with over 3,500 family members.

Our Vision
Our vision is to positively impact the lives of our neighbors in need.
Our Mission
Share of McLean is an all-volunteer, community-based nonprofit that teams with individual donors and partner organizations to assist our neighbors who face food insecurity, economic hardships or related challenges.
How We Operate

-
Share was organized in 1969 to help meet the emergency needs of our neighbors in McLean and nearby areas of Northern Virginia.

-
Because we have no paid staff, no office, and no paid fundraisers, nearly all donations directly benefit our neighbors in need.
-
It takes more than 1,000 volunteer hours per month to run our programs, so we are always recruiting new volunteers.

-
Our food and clothing room is housed is space donated by the McLean Baptist Church.

-
Share Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. To see our IRS Form 990 annual financial reports and board members, click here.
