Food and Clothing
The food pantry and clothing room provide supplemental groceries and clothes to clients who live in Share’s service area zip codes (22101, 22102, 22066, 22043). Clients can visit the food pantry and clothing rooms twice per month. The Food Pantry and Clothing Rooms are open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:30 to noon. Please check to make sure the next Wednesday or Saturday is not a Share closing.

Individuals are referred to Family Assistance by the Fairfax County Coordinated Services department at (703) 222-0880 or by calling the Share answering service directly at (703) 229-1414. Callers phoning the answering service directly must reside in the Share service areas of McLean, Great Falls, and Pimmit Hills, which includes the zip codes, 22101, 22102, 22066 and 22043. Once a client leaves a message with the Share answering service, the Family Assistance Coordinator will call back to determine the need and qualifications for assistance.

Share conducts special events to support clients of the Food Pantry and Clothing rooms. These include the School Supply Program, Grocery gift cards for holiday meals, and the Holiday Celebration in December.

Clients who cannot afford essential furniture can get help from Share. Social workers or church workers must verify their eligibility for Share services. Share gives priority to families with children and people who have no furniture or no beds. To request furniture, call 703-448-1054 and leave a message in English or Spanish or, preferably, ask a county social worker or church worker to call on your behalf.

The Share Technology Program distributes laptops with Windows 10 to clients who receive service from any of Share’s programs on a regular basis. Each Share client is eligible for one computer from Share, however exceptions are possible for families based on certain circumstances. Please stop by the Food Pantry on any Wednesday or Saturday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Please check to make sure the next Wednesday or Saturday is not a Share closing) and speak with a volunteer to request a laptop.
The Share Technology Program offers a lifetime maintenance guarantee to all clients with computers distributed to them by the Share Technology Program. Computers not distributed by Share are not eligible for maintenance.
To know if your computer is from Share, it must have an identification number of AXXX, BXXX, or CXXX (Example: A010, B167, or C019).
- If your computer is a laptop, the identification number will look like BXXX (Example: B167). The identification number can be found as the computer name, written in the battery casing, on a piece of tape on the laptop, or under a barcode taped onto the laptop.
- If your computer is a desktop, the identification number will look like AXXX or CXXX (Example: A010 or C019). The identification number can be found as the computer name, written in the desktop casing, or on a piece of tape on the desktop.
If you have an eligible computer in need of repairs, please stop by the Food Pantry on any Wednesday or Saturday from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Please check to make sure the next Wednesday or Saturday is not a Share closing) and speak with a volunteer to request computer maintenance.
